Abronia graminea
CB '22 Male – Not Available
Just a quick update on one of my adult males. This guy has really colored up over the past few months — that turquoise is finally coming through strong under proper UV and diet.
Setup:
- Enclosure: 18x18x36 Exo Terra, live planted
- Temps: 68–74°F daytime / drops to 60°F at night
- Humidity: 80%+ with daily misting
- Lighting: Arcadia T5 UVB 6% + jungle dawn LED bar
Feeding:
- Main staples: Dubia, red runners, and BSFL
- Occasional: Waxworms, hornworms
- Supplemented with calcium/D3 every other feeding
Temperament:
Fairly calm for a graminea. He still prefers minimal handling, but not overly skittish. I only interact during feeding/maintenance to minimize stress.
Notes:
This species does best in a cool, well-ventilated, and humid environment. Avoid stagnant setups — they need good air exchange. I've found deep leaf litter and vertical cork bark really help with security.
Always open to talk shop with other Abronia folks. Feel free to share setups or tips!
